Social Media Report Template: 8 Columns to Track Monthly
Updated November 5, 2026.
What goes in a social media report? A monthly report needs 8 columns: followers, net new followers, impressions or reach, top posts, posts published, engagement, link clicks and one line on what you will change. Copy the table below into Google Sheets, fill one row per account, and compare each number with the month before. The first three columns are the ones Blaze fills in for you.
The 8 columns, with where to find each
| Column | What it tells you | Where to find it | In Blaze? |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1. Followers | Total followers at the end of the month, per account | The account's own app, or Blaze | Yes, latest total per account |
| 2. Net new followers | Followers gained minus followers lost over the month | The account's own app, or Blaze | Yes, net adds over 7 and 30 days |
| 3. Impressions or reach | How many times, or how many people, saw your posts. Each network counts it differently, so do not add accounts together | The account's own analytics, or Blaze | Yes, per account for 7 and 30 days, against the period before |
| 4. Top posts | The 3 posts that did best, so you can make more like them | The account's own analytics, or Blaze | Yes, the week's top posts (up to 5) |
| 5. Posts published | How many posts went out, per account | Your calendar | Count them on the Blaze calendar |
| 6. Engagement | Likes, comments, shares and saves on each post | The account's own analytics | Not in the digest |
| 7. Link clicks | Visits sent to your site from your posts | The network's own analytics, or Google Analytics | Not in the digest |
| 8. What changes next month | One sentence: what you will do more or less of | You | No, this is the point of the report |

Copy it into Google Sheets
- Select the example table above and copy it.
- In a new Google Sheet, click cell A1 and paste. The columns land in separate cells.
- Replace the sample numbers with your own and keep one row per account.
- Next month, add a new tab or a new block of rows for that month, so you can compare the two side by side.
This page does not offer a file download. The table is plain text, so it also pastes into Excel, Numbers or a slide.
How Blaze fills the first columns
The Blaze Insights tab shows highlights for each connected account over 7 or 30 days, with history up to a year. If you use an AI assistant, the Blaze MCP server has a performance digest: followers and impressions per account for yesterday, the last 7 days and the last 30 days, each compared with the window before, plus the week's top posts. Impressions mean Instagram reach, Facebook unique impressions, YouTube views and Google Business Profile profile views. Numbers that are missing show as missing, never estimated. That covers columns 1 to 4. Engagement and link clicks are not in the digest; take those from each network's own analytics. Blaze starts at $79 a month with a 7-day free trial, no credit card.

Questions people ask
How often should I send a social media report?
Monthly is enough for most small businesses. Use the 7-day view in between to spot a post that is working.
Which metrics matter most?
Start with followers, net new followers and impressions or reach. They show whether more people are seeing you. Add engagement and link clicks once those three are in the habit.
Can I use this in Excel or PowerPoint?
Yes. Paste the table into either one.
